Progress Update #28

Hello everyone!
Don't worry I am still working on the game!

I have been splitting my time between this and another project, as the remaining work for Monkey Ball is going to take quite a while and is quite involved.
The Naomi decompilation is at a bit over 90% at the time of writing this.
The arcade's own renderer now runs on Dreamcast. Sega's programmers wrote parts of the 3D renderer in SH-4 assembly. Those exact routines now run on the Dreamcast and cost the same as they did on the arcade board, because the Dreamcast and NAOMI share the same CPU.

Along with full Naomi parity in arcade mode, there will be some new additions for v1.0.

- Region swap in gameplay settings
- Monkey Mail online challenges
- Character select in practice mode
+ more!

Stay Tuned!

Fun Fact
The timer's burning fuse isn't a sprite. It's a tiny 3D model drawn with its own camera, and it burns down as time runs out.

Progress Update #27

With the release of v0.80 things are starting to slow down and the focus is on restoring full Naomi parity in the arcade mode.
My goal is to have the next release be v1.0, full Naomi parity, 60FPS on all stages.
No exceptions.

Thank you to everyone that has stuck with the project, and all the amazing feedback I have gotten over the months.

This project is finally nearing the end...

Fun Fact
The arcade had a built-in name filter. Name Entry checks six banned entries: "SEX", "XXX" and four spaced variations of "XX". Any of those gets swapped for "---" on the High Scores table.

Version 0.80.2 Patch

Oops! One more quick patch!

This version fixes an issue that could prevent name entry in Advanced and Expert even if the score qualified.
This should hopefully be the last patch for this version.

Sorry to everyone that burned a v0.80.1 CD, and sorry about the small patches.
I was rushing to get v0.80 out yesterday and obviously let some issues slip through.
It won't happen again for future releases. Now I know how Sonic Team feels haha.
All v0.80 versions will still be able to upload scores.
